This blog is going to be used to cover "the scene" here in Metro Manila. If you know what I'm talking about, I won't have to explain it anymore.
But to those that I have to, it means I'm going to have to cover everything "cool". I know "cool" is a very subjective word. But basically cover everything that the major print publications do not cover. Like band schedules, movie screenings (indie and otherwise), new, cheap, restos (not after everybody else has discovered them), up and coming politicians, yes politicians, because no matter what someone will have to lead us someday. Book launches, nice places. Basically those little things that major publications tend to overlook because they are too big or too careful.
Eventually I want to expand it into a real publication, ala the Boston Phoenix or The Village Voice. Though I don't want it to have the liberal voice, more like the "big idea" voice. And as usual, I don't really have to explain that. You just have to get it.
So what I am basically getting at is the creation of a new culture, a pop culture. And not in a derogatory way but in an Andy Warhol kind of way.
